IELTS General: Writing Task 1

You recently read an article in a newspaper about your childhood friend with whom you have lost contact for a long time. Write a letter to the editor. In your letter:
·         Say which edition and when did the article appear
·         Explain why you lost contact with your friend
·         Say how you want them to help you to get back in touch

Dear Sir,

In the past, I was skimming a Sport magazine published by The Dawn Newspaper, I discovered a heading that amazed me .It was about my  best primary school friend Ali, we were liked a two  peas in a pod.Unfortunately, for years there were no communication between us and I need your assistance to rejuvenate this limping friendship.

On last Sunday, I went to barber shop for hair cutting, I was waiting for my appointment  and glancing at the pictures in a magazine, turning pages quickly in order to read fascinating content. Exactly, on page number 72 , 7th Edition of the Sports Magazine published in December 2018, I went through a news which defined my friend incredible victory in Squash.

Five years back, I was returning from a university ,suddenly, a pillion  ride came from behind and robbed my smart phone and wallet.Consequently, I lost  precious contact details of my  many friends . Since then,  I had searched for  his contact details, but end up in vain.

Ali is an emerging and striking talent in the field of  Badminton. Sadly, Ali runs away from social websites, therefore, I could not find any clue about his residential address and contact number. You published a literature about his achievement ,I presume , you might have his contact details, affectionately, share it with me.

It always cumbersome to wait patiently , it is my humble request to reply me at the end of next week, if you could.

Yours Faithfully ,

Muhammad Noman Anees
